Registries are pretty much synonymous with lineups, but at East Calgary Registry, we really work hard to make sure that you don’t have to waste your valuable time standing in line. We make sure that we are always well-staffed so that all of our counters can be manned during busy times. It is always our goal to have a wait time that is less than 15 minutes and we monitor wait times throughout the day.
The best way to avoid the lineup at East Calgary Registry is to check yourself into the line before you arrive. You can check in online or text your first name to (587) 806-4146. Either way, you will get a notification back letting you know your position in line and estimated wait time. If you miss your turn, don’t worry – you will not lose your place in line. We will put you on hold and you can regain your spot at the front of the line by following the instruction in the text you receive.
If you are in a hurry and didn’t get a chance to check in before you come to East Calgary Registry, just scan the QR code at the door to add yourself to the queue. You will get a notification back with an estimated wait time. We ask that you wait outside until you get a text inviting you to come inside. You can use that time to pick up some groceries at Save On Foods or grab a coffee at Tim’s, or just relax in your car.
Don’t have a mobile phone? Don’t worry. We always have someone working at the front door who can add you to the virtual queue, or you can use our kiosk just inside the door to add your name to the queue.
Our final piece of advice around lineups is pretty much true at any registry in the province: avoid end of the month and beginning of the month! At East Calgary Registry, we are also busier on Mondays and Saturdays. The slowest day of the week is usually Wednesday. At our location, the lineups are usually longest around 4 pm and you will wait less time if you can come early in the day, soon after we open.
