City of Calgary Small Business ‘Hub’

Posted on: Oct 19, 2017

The City of Calgary announced this week the launch of their new myBusiness Hub. The goal behind the new service is to help entrepreneurs open and run their businesses more smoothly. Whether you own a home-based business, a commercial or non-resident business, the City of Calgary wants to provide you with the information you need to get started and be compliant.

The myBusiness Hub will help you to find information about business permits and licences, including which inspections will need to be done before you can open. This is valuable information to have if you are planning a build out to open a brick-and-mortar location, since the permitting process can add weeks to the timeline, adding increased costs and frustration at a very stressful time.

The website also provides information for existing business owners, including facts about Business Taxes and how to change your information if there is a change of location or ownership transfer. Included is also information of concern to small and medium sized businesses regarding events, signage, fines, etc.
