With the increased barriers to entry into commercial driving as a career in Alberta, commercial carriers have good reason to be more concerned than ever about driver retention. Improving driver safety is one way that commercial carriers can reduce accidents, limit liability and keep employees engaged.
Netradyne is one company that is using technology to improve driver safety and driver retention. Their mission is simple: “Make bad drivers good, and good drivers outstanding in a supportive, collaborative environment that leads to improved yield in driver recruitment and retention.” Their product, Driveri, uses GreenZone — a score that highlights each person’s driving capabilities, allowing employers to reward those who perform well and find out where others are lacking. All of this data allows commercial carriers to identify blind spots and put mentorship and training programs in place as needed.
